The ISO 8653 Standard

International ring sizing can be chaotic, but it is all anchored by ISO 8653, the international standard which dictates that a ring's size should be based on its inner circumference in millimeters. The EU directly uses this standard (e.g., EU size 54 means 54mm circumference).

Asia (Japan, Korea, HK, SE Asia)

Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines generally share a numerical sizing system based loosely on diameter. A US 7 typically translates to a Japanese Size 14.

UK & Commonwealth

The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa use an alphabetical sizing system (A to Z+). A US size 7 is approximately an N 1/2.

Middle East & Africa

Dubai, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Kenya heavily rely on the European (ISO) circumference system. A ring measuring 52mm in circumference is simply a Size 52.
